Let’s look back on the achievements that defined a year of purpose through the lens of five core priorities of our journey.
Customer focus – Building closer relationships
GAR and Verborg Group: A strategic partnership for tropical oils

In 2024, GAR and Verborg Group formed a landmark multi-year partnership, appointing GAR as the exclusive supplier of over a million tonnes of tropical oils, including Crude Palm Oil (CPO), Palm Kernel Oil (PKO), and Coconut Oil.
Through this partnership, we’re making the supply chain more adaptable and sustainable to meet evolving global needs. It’s an exciting step forward for GAR to stay ahead and bring impactful change to the industry.

GAR and Chane: Expanding storage capacity in Rotterdam

In July 2024, GAR and Chane entered a strategic lease partnership to enhance storage capacity at the state-of-the-art Chane terminal in Rotterdam, Europe’s largest port.
This collaboration provides us with 20,400 cubic metres of storage, including eight 1,800-cubic-metre tanks and eight 750-cubic-metre tanks, with additional capacity for future expansion. The first shipment was delivered on 17 July, marking a key milestone in our efforts to strengthen our presence in the Northwest Europe region.

A decade of seamless logistics: Sinarmas LDA Maritime turns 10
Cheers to 10 years of close relationships! In 2024, Sinarmas LDA Maritime celebrated a decade of partnership between GAR and Louis Dreyfus Armateurs. Redefining food safety: GAR leads with MOSH/MOAH accreditation

GAR became the first organisation in Indonesia to earn the KAN accreditation for testing MOSH and MOAH contaminants in edible palm oil. Thanks to our Marunda QC laboratory, we can now detect these contaminants faster and more precisely, ensuring safer, higher-quality products for everyone.
“This recognition is proof of the high standards we uphold in our laboratory to manage the risk of MOSH and MOAH,” said Fransisca Tedjo, Head of National Quality Food Safety at GAR.
Fuelling Japan’s energy transition with Palm Kernel Shell (PKS) exports

Big things are happening for Golden Biomass Energy (GBE), a GAR subsidiary making waves in Japan’s renewable energy transition. Since kicking off in October 2022, GBE has exported over 300,000 tonnes of Palm Kernel Shell (PKS) to Japan.
It’s a huge step forward for palm-based biomass as a sustainable energy source – and there’s more to come as we gear up for bigger goals to keep the momentum going!
Empowering people
Empowering villages: The Bright Future Initiative’s impact

In 2024, GAR’s Bright Future Initiative made significant strides in advancing economic development across Indonesia. By implementing over 160 projects in more than 100 villages, the initiative promotes organic vegetable cultivation, livestock rearing, and cash crop farming. This approach not only builds up food security but also provides communities with sustainable income streams.
Our Bright Future Initiative also upskills local small businesses, enabling them to market and sell value-added products. This helps boost household incomes and build more resilient communities.
