Ingredients:
- 250 g Low-protein wheat flour
- 15 g Cornstarch
- 150 g FILMA® Margarine
- 75 g Powdered sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 tsp vanilla powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 30 g White sesame seeds, ground
- 2 Egg yolks, lightly beaten (for egg wash)
- Red candied fruit (sukade), as needed
Method:
- Mix blueberry jam and ground sesame seeds. Set aside.
- Beat FILMA® Margarine and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Add the egg, vanilla powder, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Add the sifted wheat flour and cornstarch, then mix with a spatula until evenly combined.
- Roll the dough to about 1/2 cm thickness, then cut into 4 x 4 cm squares. Score each corner lengthwise using a knife, leaving about 1 cm uncut in the centre so the dough does not separate. Spread the filling on top of the dough. Fold the cut corners clockwise to form a pinwheel shape. Arrange on a baking tray that has been greased with FILMA® Margarine.
- Brush the folded parts and the centre with egg yolk wash, then place a piece of red candied fruit (sukade) in the centre. Bake at 150°C for approximately 35 minutes until fully baked. Remove and let the steam/hot air escape.
- Store in an airtight jar and serve.
